Amidst sound and smoke King Goat have been gaining a reputation for enthralling audiences with their engaging, atmospheric live performance. Having just come off tour with Paradise Lost, the band have released their second album “Debt of Aeons” through Aural Music.
"There is a real sense of the epic to the song writing, which is helped by a really excellent production that has plenty of warmth and immediacy. All in all, a really great release, and for once, it seems that the hounds of social media may have a point: King Goat ARE good." (8/10) - Ave Noctum, Chris Davison
King Goat Biography
Forming in 2012, Brighton’s King Goat quickly deviated from their initial aim to be a traditional sounding band thanks to a vast range of influences, both inside and outside of metal. Prior to the release of 2016’s “Conduit” the band released two EPs and played underground shows across the UK including dates with Jex Thoth, Enslaved, Grand Magus, and a slot on the Bloodstock Festival New Blood Stage.
The album “Conduit” was released to critical acclaim, featuring on many end of year lists including being Angry Metal Guy’s album of the year for 2016, and the band were able to ride this wave playing shows across the UK, including dates with Solstafir and Primitive Man, and a performance at HRH Doom vs Stoner. King Goat were signed by cult label Aural Music who released a deluxe edition of the debut record.
Following this, Aural Music released King Goat’s sophomore record, “Debt of Aeons”, in April 2018 once again to praise from the metal media and fanbase. In the run up to the release of “Debt of Aeons” King Goat played a supporting UK tour with doom legends Paradise Lost, before following this up with a successful headline UK tour of their own.
Since 2016, King Goat have been putting on a sellout one day festival, “Riffmass”, featuring underground bands from across the UK and Europe including acts such as Witchsorrow, Dvne, and Desert Storm.
